Collaboration Piece

This is my collaboration piece. I am honestly pretty disappointed in how this piece came out, but I do think making it was a good learning opportunity. The first rabbit I sculpted, I forgot to hollow it out because I was rushing to get if fired. Unfortunately, I had to re-make it, which took a lot of time. It was also quite difficult to glaze, because of all the little pieces of grass. Then, the ear broke off when it was in the glazing process. I tried to stick it back on with glaze, but it melted in the kiln and the ear is now drooping. Overall, if I were to make this piece again, I would just be more careful and not try to rush it.
Thrown Choice Pieces

I am pretty happy with how his mug turned out. I especially like the handle, which I made with one of the handle pullers. I used smokey merlot, sapphire float, seaweed, aincient copper, and oatmeal for this mug. I like how this combo turned out, i think the colors go together very well. This is also one of the most structurally even and sound pieces I have made on the wheel, so thats good. The foot is also very nice. The only thing I don't like is that it is not very smooth, even though I tried to smooth it out.

This piece I actually started making in first semester, but it didn't get fired until second semester. I threw it with terra cotta, which I enjoyed more than I thought I would. I like the texture a lot more than the the regular clay I usually use. I think it's cute, but it is a bit uneven, and the glaze combo could be better. The bottom is also very thick, which is a habit I have been working to break. However, it is a cute little pot, and I am overall happy with how it came out.

I really like how the glaze and the foot turned out on this piece. I used smokey merlot, iron lustre, and oatmeal, and I love the way the oatmeal dripped. However, it is a bit off center, and the rim is not a perfect circle. I have a very hard time getting my pieces to be on center, and it is something that I have been working on. If I were to do this piece again, I would spend a longer time coning up and down to make sure that it would be more centered.
