Unit 6 Projects
Thrown Bowl

This is one of the last pieces of the wheel I made, and I really love how it turned out. Like most of my pieces, it is not perfectly centered, but its close. I also love how the leaf pattern, and the glaze combination came out. I was worried about the glaze filling the lines I carved out, but they stayed visible, which is good. The only thing I would do differently, is make sure the base was more centered before I opened it up.
Whimsical House

For this project, I wanted to make a whimsical house because I didn't get to last year. I am really happy with how it came out structurally. The roof was the most challenging, and I tried multiple different tactics to get the wood texture before I got it right. I especially like the door, and the flower boxes on the sides. However, I don't really like how the glaze colors came out. They just are not what I had been imagining. Even though I do like how it turned out, I ended up deciding to donate this piece to the classroom, and maybe save it for roaring camp next year.
Snoopy

This snoopy I made for my dad for his birthday, because he loves The Peanuts. It was a fairly simple project, but I was very precise with my measurements of the house, which really payed off. I also really love how Snoopy turned out. I think the whole thing turned out really well, and it was a good last piece of the year.
