My Future Plans
After I graduate high school, I will be attending UC San Diego as a marine biology major. I’ll be living on campus and eventually taking classes at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography. There, I hope to get involved in research and spend as much time as possible doing hands-on learning. I also plan to continue dancing in college, even though it’s not my major. UCSD offers many opportunities for this, such as clubs, classes, and possibly even a minor in dance.
I’m considering pursuing a master’s degree to open up more job opportunities in the future, but that decision will depend on how I feel in four years. I’m incredibly excited to be attending UCSD and feel proud of the hard work that got me here.
After college, I’m not exactly sure what my career will look like, but ideally, I’ll be involved in research and conservation work. I’m very passionate about protecting our oceans, and I hope to build a career focused on that mission. If financially possible, I’d love to stay in California—however, I know that marine biologists often earn modest salaries.
Overall, I hope to build a future full of opportunities to study, protect, and enjoy our beautiful oceans.
